Sweet Victory

Had some good news and some tough news today. At first, I didn't want to turn to food for comfort and I was feeling proud of myself. But as the news sank in I felt the urge to teach for sweets for comfort start to rise. I resisted. I didn't give in. I remembered how good my body is finally starting to feel after being sick for a month, and remembered how bad my body would feel if I did indulge in the sweets. I resisted temptation to comfort with food. Now THAT'S the sweet taste of victory!

Non-Scale Victories

What non-scale victories have you had this week?

Mine? (yah, they're selfies....)

1- Last night I jogged for 3 miles
on the treadmill - nonstop
2- Today I button up my dress jacket
that didn't button last week!
Haven't worn this jacket button up
in over 8 years!

Little Happy Dance

Oh, by the way, I wanted to share another little victory: I'm now on the FOURTH notch in the belt and it's a little loose! Gonna need a new belt soon!

Also, all my size 14s are too big. Going clothes shopping on Friday for a couple pairs of pants and some tops as I whittle my waist down. And possibly some new shoes....because a girl can never have too many shoes. (But seriously, I do need some new fall/winter work shoes so this is totally reasonable. Sandal season is winding to an end.)

Doing a Touchdown Victory Dance!

Last night my mother was watching video clips of Jimmy Falon. One of the clips was "The History of the Touchdown Dance" or something like that. I think I'll need her to share that with me (won't THAT be interesting to have my mother try to share a video link!) because I'm celebrating another little victory! Now on the third notch of my little belt!
Oh yah!
Boo-yah!
Go me! Go me! Go-go-go me-e!

How are you celebrating yourself and your little victories?

Celebrating Victories - BIG and small

Last night I went salsa dancing. I've been taking lessons for about five weeks now. Usually, after a night of dancing, my feet are killing me (salsa shoes are meant to fit snugly and I'm not used to wearing heals) and my thighs are sore. Celebrating the fact that I made it the whole night without any foot pain, blisters, or needing a major massage at the end of the night! And today I'm celebrating that my legs aren't as sore as usual; I can "feel" that my leg muscles were active yesterday (I also did a 4.5 mile hilly walk yesterday morning on top of salsa dancing that night).

It feels great to move my body in new ways! Victory!!!

Today's other victory happened as I was getting ready to go to my salsa lesson. I put on my skinny jeans, the jeans that are not only skinny legs but the smaller size I bought a few weeks ago, and discovered that they fit a little looser than before. AND, as if that's not enough, when I put my belt on, which was a little uncomfortable on the first hole, I can now comfortably buckle on the second hole!

I feel good AND I look good! Victory!!!
